Book them! Our wedding reception was a dream come true and the Professors of Soul were the perfect band. Super professional and easy to work with, they drove at least 150 miles for our wedding. The Professors of Soul were recommended by a friend, but it turns out my wife and I used to go out to see Monty (and other members of the band, no doubt) play jazz at a local club when we lived in Greenville. The Professors of Soul really took our reception to the next level. These guys (and ladies too!) were INCREDIBLE. We had such a great time out on the dance floor at our wedding reception!! The group was so versatile...we heard all our favorite classic dance songs and some salsa and jazz too! The Professors of Soul were an outstanding band for our reception! They were very accommodating to some last minute requests and totally professional throughout our interaction. I thought they were a good band listening to them online, but their performance at our wedding reception exceeded my expectations and beyond! They had half of our reception on the dance floor and kept the high energy of the crowd going all night. They are an incredibly talented group of musicians and I would definitely recommend them to friends and family. Easily one of the best bands we've ever had. Put on a great show with good crowd interaction. Played forever. Excellent playlist. Just kept on playing as long as we could dance. Professors of Soul were AWESOME!! So professional and showed up very early. They communicated quickly and were such a joy to deal with. They even learned special songs for our first dances for no charge - such a treat! Would highly, highly recommend them! The Professors of Soul were wonderful!! When I first heard them play at my brother's wedding, I knew they were the band that I wanted to have at my reception. Monty was very pleasant to work with, and the cost was very reasonable. My husband and I wanted a Black Keys song for our first dance, and we were so excited with the result!! It was awesome when two singers got on the dance floor and showed us a fun group dance. The Professors of Soul truly made our reception a great experience!!!! The Professors of Soul were remarkably easy to work with and they even offered to learn a few songs for us. All night people approached my wife and I and asked how we found them and said that they were the best band they had ever seen at a reception. The energy from the band showed on the dance floor as they kept people dancing up until it was time to leave. I would recommend them to ANYONE who enjoys a great band and most importantly, talented musicians. For this event, we had to coordinate many acts, sponsors, and even a last-minute rain call. The Professors of Soul were so great to work with and were more than accommodating when we wanted a swing dance performance group to be able to dance with the band.
